- crossing a room
- sitting down opposite another character
- exchanging a couple convocation (possibility to create a genre)
- match on action
- shot/ reverse shot
- the 180 degree rule
- Understanding of camera shots

Camera shots we will use
The 180 degree rule is the rule in which the shot consists of two people or objects facing one another. A line is 'drawn' through the centre of the two people/ objects and the camera has to move in a semi circle motion around the two main focuses, sticking to the semi circle arch (straight line divides a 'circle' surrounding the focuses in half). The 180 degree line cannot be crossed as it will be breaking the rule and can become confusing for the viewers through the positioning of characters/ objects (flipping sides).
Match On Action is an editing technique that is used to continually progress through an action shown in the first shot from a different angle, for example, if someone was to open a door it would show them open the door from a long shot, then show a camera shot from the character going through the door (other side). This editing technique is commonly used to continue action.
The Shot Reverse Shot is a editing technique mainly used for exchanging dialogue between characters or a character focusing on a object. An example of two characters exchanging dialogue with a Shot Reverse Shot is action would be an 'over the shoulder' shot of one character which then switches to the other character (over the shoulder) when the speaker changes.
Script
F:So, Dan. I need to ask you a few questions.
D:Yeah
F:Where were you last night around 9:30pm
D:Well, erm, last night around 9:30 I was headed down towards the park
F:Was you with anyone?
D:I was about to meet my boy down the park
F:And who would this be?
D:Ryan
F:Ryan Jones?
D:Yeah
F:We have suspicion that there was some dodgey business going on at the park last night. Did you happen to be involved with that?
D:Nah, Ryan's not into that
F:See we think that he may have been involved with a drug deal that went on last night
D:Nah, Ryans not like that, he wouldn't do that kind of stuff
F:Listen, if you have any information we need to know, these drugs can be dangerous
D:Well I just want to let you know that it wasn't me or Ryan doing anything
F:We have a very reliable witness that says you and Ryan were walking down the pathway towards the play area, is this true?
D:Well, mate, thats not what happened last night
F:So what are your version of the events?
D: Well I was walking down to the park going to meet my boy Ryan and then we went down to coop, just a standard trip ya know, get a few cans, just sit at the back and chill, thats about it
F:Okay, okay, well it's getting late so we'll bring you in for some further questioning tomorrow
D:Yeah

Location pictures
The tech courtyard was used as one our locations for our preliminary task, this is due to how it fits with the scene we wanted to create as well as the natural light given from being out doors. This location was suitable due to how quite this location was at the time.
We used the science hub as one of our locations due to how quite this room was and how it offers plenty of room for to manipulate to create a range of creative and diverse camera angles and shots.this hub also contains all the necessary props needed for this scene.
Storyboard
1. The suspect of a supposed drug deal is brought in for questioning by a member of the police force, the interviewee and the interviewer enter at opposite sides of the room.
2. The interviewer enters the room with questions ready to ask the suspect, the interviewer enters through the door opposite the interviewee.
3. The interview beings, the interviewee takes little interest in what the interview has to say. The interviewer asks what happened the other night which leads to a flashback.
4. A flashback starts which shows the interviewee and his friend supposedly dealing in a rough urban area, it is easy to tell the interviewee is lying.
5. The interviewer then goes on to tell that he does not believe the interviewee's story and states that there was a witness on scene.
6. A flashback is shown showing that a witness was at the scene. The witness points to the spot where he saw the two suspects 'dealing'.
7. The interviewee then proceeds to deny these accusations telling the interviewer that his friend is not into that 'stuff'.
8. The interviewer has enough of the suspect lying and decides to carry on the interview tomorrow.

Evaluation
Positives
-We met the camera technique sections of the brief by using the 180 degree rule, shot reverse shot and match on action.
-We created dialogue and editing to create a genre of a crime genre.
-Showed understanding of the task by explaining the different camera shots and techniques that were new to us within the task.
Negatives
-To fit the crime genre, we could have created pace in our video by using more quick, straight cuts between dialogue.
-We could have amplified the audio in certain parts as the dialogue was fairly hard to hear.
-We could have incorporated more action into our video to define the genre in a better and more exciting way.

To conclude the brief was met but looking back I feel there were many improvements that could of been made to our production. A greater knowledge with iMovie would of helped us as we attempted to overlap the audio of the interview over the flashback so its like the characters are telling the series of events rather than the diegetic sound of the clip but iMovie would not allow us or we didn't know how to. The functions of iMovie has always been a factor that stops us creating projects with advanced editing as iMovie is hard to use and has no walk-through/ tutorial in the program.
